The benefits of a fine-clay pot

Fine clay is the ideal material for bonsai. Thanks to its natural porosity:

• Retains moisture gradually, releasing it slowly to the roots
• Promotes root aeration, reducing the risk of waterlogging
• Regulates the temperature of the growing medium, protecting the roots from temperature fluctuations
• Improves growth by creating a healthy, natural microclimate
• Eco-friendly: natural material, without chemical treatments

Care and maintenance

• Light: direct or very bright light – the Olive tree loves full sun; indoors, place it near the brightest window; in summer, outdoor placement is preferable
• Watering: moderate – the Olive tree is drought-resistant; allow the growing medium to dry out between waterings; in a small pot, check more frequently in summer
• Temperature: hardy and able to withstand low temperatures when well rooted; in a small pot, shelter it below -5°C
• Fertilization: every 3-4 weeks in spring and summer with fertilizer specifically for bonsai
• Pruning: prune excess branches in late winter or after flowering to maintain its shape
• Repotting: every 3-4 years in spring, using a well-draining bonsai-specific growing medium

The Olive Bonsai in an Alba pot made of fine clay is much more than a plant: it is a piece of Mediterranean landscape in miniature, capable of stirring emotion with its quiet strength and timeless beauty. An exclusive gift for those who appreciate nature in its most authentic and refined form – and with the gift box included, it is the perfect present for Grandparents' Day.
