Features

• Species: Ficus ginseng (Ficus microcarpa).
• Trunk: sinuous, S-shaped.
• Height: 100 cm.
• Growth habit: tree-like.

How to care for it

• Light: bright, near a well-lit window; it also tolerates early-morning sunlight. With too little light, it tends to lose leaves.
• Water: water when the surface layer of the soil feels dry to the touch and empty the saucer after a few minutes: standing water causes the roots to rot.
• Environment: it is sensitive to cold, drafts, and temperature fluctuations; keep it away from radiators and, in winter, from open windows. Frequent moving can cause it to lose leaves.
• Outdoors: in summer, it can be kept outside in a bright, sheltered spot, without sun during the hottest hours; bring it indoors before the first cold weather.
• Pruning: shorten new branches that grow too long to maintain the shape of the canopy.

Why choose it

• Large format: it becomes the focal point of the room.
• S-shaped trunk with a sculptural appearance.
• Hardy plant.
