Olive bonsai D.14 H.25 cm

The wild olive bonsai (Olea europaea var. sylvestris) is a wild olive tree cultivated as a bonsai, in a pot with a diameter of 14 cm and a height of 25 cm. It is a compact Mediterranean plant for outdoors and bright spaces, also resistant to drought, with moderate care requirements.

Features

• Pot diameter: 14 cm.
• Height: 25 cm.
• Form: bonsai.
• Location: outdoors, in bright spaces.

How to care for it

• Light: full sun, outdoors all year round. Indoors, the light is not sufficient and the plant becomes weak.
• Water: the soil in a bonsai's small pot dries out quickly. Check it often and water thoroughly when the surface is dry, allowing excess water to drain away; more frequent watering is needed in summer and less frequent watering in winter.
• Soil: well-draining, without waterlogging.
• Cold: this is a Mediterranean plant that tolerates moderate cold. However, in a bonsai pot the roots are more exposed: during intense or prolonged frosts, protect it in a bright place sheltered from the wind.
• Form: to maintain the bonsai's shape, shorten new shoots during the growing season.

Why choose it

• Compact Mediterranean plant, in bonsai form.
• Hardy, including resistance to drought.
• Suitable for outdoors and bright spaces.
