Installation and care
Installation
Vertical placement enhances tall spaces and narrow walls; horizontal placement complements low furniture, sofas and headboards. Given its size, secure it with at least two mounting points and anchors suited to the wall type. For arrangements with multiple pictures, leave 5-10 cm between each one.
Light and placement
Preserved lichen does not need light, so it also works well in rooms without windows. Avoid direct sunlight and very hot halogen lamps, which can fade the pigments over time, and keep it away from heat sources.
Water
It does not need watering and must never be wet: water dissolves the pigments and irreversibly damages the lichen. If it gets wet accidentally, blot it immediately with absorbent paper without rubbing, and let it air-dry.
Temperature and humidity
The ideal temperature is between 15 and 25 °C; it can tolerate temperatures from 5 to 35 °C. The recommended humidity is between 40% and 70% to preserve the lichen’s softness. Avoid bathrooms with showers, outdoor areas, underfloor heating and daily temperature fluctuations.
Dust
To remove dust, use a hair dryer on the cool setting, held 30 cm away, without touching the fibers directly.

Frequently asked questions
What are the dimensions of the lichen picture?
The picture measures 103x73 cm and is available with a black or white frame.
Does a preserved lichen picture need water?
No. The lichen is preserved with vegetable glycerin, which maintains its softness and color without watering; in fact, it must never be wet.
Where can you hang a preserved lichen picture?
In any indoor space, such as a living room, bedroom, office, shop or hotel, away from direct sunlight and where humidity is at least 40%.
Can it be hung both vertically and horizontally?
Yes, it is designed for both orientations, and the back has fittings for mounting on masonry, drywall and wood walls.
What is the difference between lichen and preserved moss?
Lichen has a more pronounced, branching three-dimensional structure, with a richer texture and a more irregular appearance. This picture is made exclusively with preserved Nordic lichen.
